DIRECTOR OF MONITORING AND EVALUATION – Berkeley or Los Angeles, CA

California Family Health Council, Inc. is seeking a qualified Director of Monitoring and Evaluation. The position will be located in either Berkeley or Los Angeles.

Some of the duties the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation will be responsible for are:

  • Overseeing monitoring and evaluation, data collection and utilization, research application activities for the Clinical and Community Health Programs (CCHP) Division;
  • directing the data collection system for California CFHC family planning and grantees agencies in collaboration with project managers/directors, data analysts, evaluation staff and the centralized data system staff;
  • supervising centralized data system and program evaluation staff;
  • defining and assessing the health status of populations, determinants of health, and factors that contribute to health behaviors;
  • communicating effectively both in writing and orally research papers/publications, data analysis to state, national or local partners, and CFHC Board as needed;
  • writing quarterly reports, bi-annual progress reports and participating in grant applications including the evaluation and data oversight;
  • serving as CFHC evaluation liaison to partnerships with the Office of Family Planning, Infertility Prevention Project and CDC Regional committees as assigned;
  • and hire and manage program-related consultants and contracts.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in public health or a PhD with relevant evaluation experience with statewide and/or national programs is highly desirable. Candidate must have five years evaluation and monitoring experience, preferably within family planning and/or STD programs, knowledge of epidemiology and project evaluation, administration, health research, STDs, family planning, and general reproductive health. Supervision of evaluation staff required.

Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management and statistical software. Strong writing and communication skills are a must.
