Many incredible condom cover designs were submitted by diverse youth under the age of 25 from across California; the top 45 entries were selected for a final round of online voting at TeenSource.org. Based on these votes, six winning designs were selected.

On October 4th, CFHC unveiled the winning artwork for the 2008 Condom Cover Art Contest. The press conference was held at the Arte Calidad Cultural Institute in Los Angeles. Young artists Vanessa Rodriguez of Stockton, Oscar Barragan of Union City, Rafael Gavidia of Baldwin Park, Morgan Crane of Eureka, Jesse Panugaling of Pittsburg, and Stephanie Liu of Los Angeles each received a $500 prize for their winning condom cover designs.

Thousands of condom packets with the winners’ cover art will be distributed throughout the year to family planning clinics, STD clinics, male involvement programs, high schools, colleges, juvenile detention facilities and other community-based health agencies. Condoms and condom instructions are included in each condom packet, available in both English and Spanish. The inside of the condom packets are also printed with facts about STDs.

Be Safe Apparel

CFHC has also collaborated with Infectious Awearables to launch a new apparel line featuring one of the winning cover designs from 2006.
