The HIV Integration Grant is funded by the Office of Population Affairs and The Minority AIDS Fund. Four CFHC Delegate Agencies were funded for the current three year grant cycle beginning October 1, 2007. The purpose of the grant is to expand the availability of on-site HIV counseling, testing and HIV-related referral services in an increased number of family planning clinics with demonstrated high risk for HIV/AIDS. The grant supports family planning programs in communities where racial and ethnic minorities are under-served or disproportionately impacted by HIV/AIDS. With an increase in HIV rates, particularly among low income women of color, family planning clinics play a critical role in education about and testing for HIV. These monies support making HIV counseling and testing a routine and integrated part of the family planning setting.
