The Operation Division oversees the following functions and support services of CFHC: Contracts Management, the Cooperative Purchasing Program, Human Resources, Publications and Information & Education Programs, Information Technology, Strategic Development and VEBA.
Operations ensures completion of all contracts between CFHC and its delegate agencies, consultants and vendors, and provides contractual support over the course of its partnerships.
Operations has a national impact through the Cooperative Purchasing Program which saves Coop members throughout the United States tens of thousands of dollars annually on products and supplies ranging from pharmaceutical and health related supplies, to office supplies, janitorial supplies, and many other categories of services which are acquired through negotiated low pricing contracts with a variety of manufacturers and suppliers.
The Information Technology Department maintains the physical and virtual information infrastructure of the California Family Health Council and develops custom applications for internal and external use. In addition to providing internal technical support to staff, CFHC was among the first to implement an electronic data collection method for its agencies, enabling them to submit requests for funding and report activities under their Title X contracts online. CFHC remains committed to using technology to increase its ability to help agencies serve their communities.
The Human Resources Department (HR) ensures adequate staffing for the CFHC organization, implements and manages the employee health benefit programs and provides employee relations support. HR also assures compliance with any legal requirements or government regulations pertaining to employment.
Health clinics, hospitals, health educators and lay people nationwide can avail themselves of the varied and informative brochures and educational materials sold through the Publications unit of the Information & Education Division (I&E). These materials have been developed and tested by I&E to be culturally, linguistically and factually appropriate for the diverse populations served by our agencies.
Operations is responsible for monitoring the progress ofCFHC’s strategic goals and objectives as established by the Board of Directors. Other responsibilities include planning and business development for CFHC, identifying funding sources to sustain its programs and marketing the California Family Health Council to key target audiences to underline the importance of its programs and the services it provides.
Through its group health insurance pool called VEBA, CFHC helps participating health clinics and non-profit community based organizations throughout California provide healthcare benefits to their employees and their dependents.
