Public Policy

The activities of the CFHC Public Policy Division are designed to build understanding and awareness of the importance of family planning and related health issues.

Public Policy staff also monitor the legislative process at all levels of government, and promotes effective public policy decisions that ensure and expand access to family planning and other key services.

As part of its effort to engage the public in these important issues, Public Policy maintains the Public Policy Alerts weblog and provides regular update to delegate agencies and community leaders to make sure they understand the impact pending legislation may have on their clients. Public Policy serves as a facilitator, catalyst, and information resource to encourage family planning organizations to take action on key issues.

Public Policy is working to establish CFHC as a source of information and expertise for state and federal lawmakers, to be an effective advocate for legislation which promotes family health, and to serve as a strong voice for family planning and related health issues on behalf of families and delegate agencies nationwide.

For further information on the Public Policy Division, or for information on specific issues and legislation, please call (213) 386-5614 x4519.
