Delegate Agencies in California are working hard to fulfill Title X requirements and to give their clients the comprehensive healthcare that they need, and CFHC is helping them along the way with outreach projects and technical assistance. CFHC’s research studies continue to participate in the search for new technologies in the fields of research and sexual health.
CFHC has recently been awarded several new contracts and grants that will help Delegate Agencies, Research and Outreach Campaigns:
The California Endowment awarded a grant taking place over 18 months. The grant will allow CFHC to assist eight Title X agencies with completing strategic plans. The strategic plans will ensure that the agencies provide culturally responsive health care services to their clients.
The California Wellness Foundation has contracted CFHC to develop, implement and evaluate the Foundation’s 2010 Conference on Teenage Pregnancy Prevention. The conference will take place in Los Angeles, California.
Blue Shield of California Foundation will assist CFHC over 12 months in providing Title X Delegate Agencies with training and technical assistance. With this assistance, agencies will improve fiscal management infrastructure and systems.
The Taproot Foundation awarded a service grant whereby pro-bono marketing professionals will assist CFHC in developing key messages that will help bring all of CFHC’s divisions and projects together under a single organizational message.
The National Institutes of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) awarded CFHC a 29 month contract to conduct a traditional Contraceptive Efficacy study of a new Female Condom. As one of 10 research centers across the country, CFHC has been charged with enrolling 200 of the 500 subjects to use the Woman’s Condom as their only method of birth control for approximately 6 months.
CONRAD has asked CFHC to conduct a performance study of the same “Woman’s Condom,” using a new innovative study design. If successful, performance studies including the use of biomarkers may replace traditional contraceptive efficacy studies for the evaluation of some contraceptive products.
