Based on overwhelming demand during past conferences, CFHC will again offer half-day pre-conference trainings to program participants. On October 17, two trainings will be held: an Implanon insertion and removal training and an IUC insertion and removal training. These trainings will allow clinicians to prescribe Implanon or IUCs.
On October 18 and 19, the conference will continue with sessions that cover a wide range of topics, including:
- Pre- and Interconception Care,
- Updates on Contraceptives plus a discussion of contraception and the media, and
- An HPV Update highlighting a report on the new Bethesda Guidelines.
Additionally, the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP) will co-sponsor a session entitled “Screening, Treatment and Management of Interstitial Cystitis/Painful Bladder Syndrome.” Breakout sessions will address minor consent and confidentiality, managing headache and migraine pain, and a host of other topics.
A number of distinguished professionals will present at the conference including:
- Gail Bolan, MD, Chief, STD Control Branch, California Department of Public Health
- Michael Policar, MD, MPH, Medical Director for the UCSF/Family PACT Program
- Anita Nelson, MD, Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,
