The single-rod birth control implant (Implanon) was introduced in 1998, the culmination of 12 years of research and development efforts by Organon. Since 1998, two and a half million women have successfully used the implant in countries all over the world. A year ago, on July 18, 2006, Implanon was approved by the FDA and is now available to women in the United States. [Continue]
