Our dedicated research professionals are solely responsible for explaining the study, determining eligibility, obtaining informed consent, administering data collection instruments, and providing follow-up. None of these tasks are delegated to clinicians who conduct research as a sideline to their busy medical practices. With our dedicated research professionals, we avoid deviations that often arise from having multiple subcontractors and minimize reliance on retrospective monitoring visits to achieve compliance with research protocols.
CFHC Research has developed subject-administered data collection instruments that subjects find easy to use and, sometimes, even fun. We use well-established data management techniques and state-of-the-art electronic systems to store and analyze data. Our statistical personnel are proficient with a wide array of statistical software including SAS, StatXact, BMDP, and Access, as well as other specialized applications.
CFHC Research uses innovative, cost-effective media campaigns to achieve remarkable rates of recruitment. We do not limit ourselves to a roster of previous study participants or the clientele of selected clinical practices. Instead, we employ radio and print announcements to reach all of Southern California and the San Francisco Bay Area. Since first experimenting with media recruitment in 1988, we have perfected messages that attract attention while communicating the essence of the research.
Subject retention is critical to quality research. CFHC Research staff are committed to providing our volunteers with the best experience possible. Our reward is low lost-to-follow-up rates averaging less than 3%.
Our independent Institutional Review Board (IRB) is composed of reproductive health experts, as well as members of the community. We are vigilant in protecting the confidentiality and privacy of our subjects. A rigorous self-auditing program assures strict compliance with research procedures and continuous improvement in performance.
Finally, we are frequently less costly than our competitors. By combining rapid recruitment, experienced staff, high subject retention, centralized management, and low overhead, we are able to work successfully within very tight budgets. Quality research, completed on time and under budget is a pleasure to ourselves and a delight to our sponsors.
