Family Planning Performance Measures

Performance measurement lets an organization know how well it is doing, if it is meeting its goals, if its customers are satisfied and if and where improvements are necessary.

Effective and Efficient Service

Organizations in both the public and private sector are increasingly being called upon to improve operations and deliver products and services more effectively and more efficiently.

Family Planning Councils across the country have been working to integrate the Family Planning Councils of America (FPCA) Performance Measurement System into their quality assurance programs. The FPCA Performance Measures are based on Title X regulations to ensure alignment with the national program.

Sample Performance Measures

CONTRACEPTION-1
80% of contracepting female clients who return to the clinic continue with any method of contraception for a period of 10 to 15 months unless they are seeking pregnancy.

STD-3
95% of all female clients with a positive test for Chlamydia test negative when retested at the clinic within fifteen months of the first positive test.

All Title X agencies are required to collect Performance Measures for each clinical site in 2008. Trainings were held in October 2007 to assist agencies in the process.
